Position for a PhD researcher – Project WinTherface
Description: one position for a researcher with a PhD in the scientific area(s) of Hydrology, Hydraulics, Fluid Mechanics (including multi-phase flows) or CFD in the scope of project WinTherface. The work is aimed at the development of a HPC compliant numerical model, the planning and supervision of laboratory experiments. WinTherface addresses the study of mass exchange driven by wind and temperature in lake-wetland interfaces and its impacts on the water quality, through a multidisciplinary approach integrating field, laboratory and numerical work.

Position for a PhD researcher – Project ASHES
Description: one position for a researcher with a PhD in the scientific area(s) of Hydrology, Hydraulics, Fluid Mechanics or CFD. The work aims at the articulation of the laboratory and numerical tasks of project ASHES. The project investigates the dynamics of sediment transport and retention processes in rivers with vegetated areas aiming at contributing to mitigate water quality problems arising from contamination with ashes and soil exported to water bodies after wildfires.

Research scholarship – Project RiverCure
Description: 12 months scholarship (can be extended +6 months) for bachelor or master degree holders in the scientific area(s) of Hydrology, Hydraulics, Image Processing and Information Technologies. During the duration of scholarship the grantee is expected to apply for a 4 year PhD grant. The work comprises laboratory and field work to develop a methodology to assimilation crowdsourced data into flood simulation tools. RiverCure addresses the issue of reducing uncertainty and improving forecasting capabilities of hydrodynamic and morphodynamic mathematical models for flood simulation, water resources management and habitat protection.
