Earlier developments in hydro-environmental research were mainly grounded on the discovery of individual fundamental process underlying fluid motion, their intense observational, experimental, and theoretical study, and application of knowledge ensued to develop models to predict environmental motions at different scales. With the advent of space travel and satellite imagery in the late 1960’s, however, a holistic view of environmental fluid motions on the earth began to emerge. Remote Sensing and Hydro-Environment is the focus of this 2nd IAHR Presidential Lecture.

This new series of IAHR Webinars focuses on the contents of the IAHR Water Monographs, a new series of Open Access IAHR publications which presents information on physical processes, measurement techniques, theoretical material, numerical modelling techniques, engineering applications, and historical and cultural matters in an appealing, readable, and well-illustrated manner. The Pakistan floods in 2022 are a visible consequence of climate change and continue to have terrible humanitarian and economic consequences. In this interview, Prof. Lee discusses with experts about how to facilitate global water research and provide assistance to the engineering community in understanding what is happening and what can be done in Pakistan.

The Congress regular programme included thought-provoking keynotes as well as a general programme of sessions where young professionals, researchers, and students presented their work and received mentoring from leading global experts. Future vision and activity encouragement.
This was a meeting aimed at facilitating a more organic and active participation from Korean members in IAHR.

This issue presents the five papers of special issue “Organisms scale interaction with hydraulics conditions”.
Wide scales are treated from the scale of fish to that of the large wetlands of a Ramsar site. All these papers treat the restoration/conservation of ecosystems; they explore the topic from an ecological standpoint but also from engineering perspectives, which are of vital importance for sustainable development.

Published in Spanish by IAHR and the World Council of Civil Engineers (WCCE), Ribagua focuses on themes of relevance, with a direct impact on decision-making in the Ibero-American region. This issue contains an article about the aquifer-river connection and underground flow using a specific hydrological model and includes another article about the prediction of sedimentation in an extended and heterogeneous navigation waterway.
