Abstract: Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations applied to perform hydraulic modeling constitute a major advance in our field, as the number of underlying assumptions is reduced with respect to other simulation techniques. In this paper IHFOAM model is applied to simulate the interaction of oblique waves with a rubble mound breakwater. Wave overtopping, pressures on the structure and scour potential are studied in detail. The results prove that the model is a valuable tool to assess three-dimensional effects.
