3D Numerical Modelling of Flow-Vegetation Interaction Under Oscillatory Flow

Abstract: This study presents a three dimensional problem where oscillatory flow evolution along a beach slope considering a vegetation patch is analyzed. The model IH-FOAM including a solver for flow-vegetation interaction is used. The model is satisfactory validated using laboratory measurements regarding wave height evolution and flow velocities. Following this validation the wave height evolution and flow velocities developed along the beach slope with the vegetated area are analyzed.
