Risk Management for Flood Control Planning and Its Practices in China: Actuality and Problems

Abstract: The flood control situations and the flood risk management program in China are introduced in this paper. A series of issues for flood risk management in the new national flood prevention plan are presented, such as necessity and complexity, guidelines and principles, demands and strategy. The foreground and problems of the flood risk management in China are discussed. Finally, some key points in practicing flood risk management are summarized.
