Abstract: During the past few decades different manufacturers have produced a wide range of apparatus to realize the needs of investigators in the field of physical modelling of various hydrodynamic phenomena. From the other side that complicated and delicate equipment demand correctly prepared set-up together with reasonable testing program as well as trained personnel. In the paper the experiments to study unsteady pipe flow carried out in Laboratory of Hydrodynamics at Tallinn Technical University using Constant Temperature Anemometer (CTA) and Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA) are described. Based on these measurements unsteady friction coefficients and velocity distribution data are presented.
