Abstract: At the Water Engineering Department of Bari Polytechnic, experimental trials of unsteady flow with cavitation occurring have been conducted. These tests have been made using an experimental lifting system [1][2] (see figure n°1) where unsteady flow has been caused by closing a spherical valve at the upstream of the delivery pipe close to the pump of the hydraulic system. Experimental measures of pressure during the whole transient (in the outlet close to the pump) have been performed in order to validate the DFGM model [3][4] which, in this paper, the writer presents with a different solution in writing the thermodynamic equation of concentrated air pockets.
