Looking for an internship
My name is Marie-Aude Pradal. I have recently obtained my Master's
degree in physical oceanography at the University of Marseille,
France. I have also spent four months under the supervision of Dr.
Grilli at the University of Rhode Island, USA. During that period
of time I worked on an internship project involving the depth inversion:
using brightness data, calculating the bathymetry by inverting a
dispersion relationship.
I am currently looking for a PhD or an internship opportunity.

Guidelines for the Assessment and Planning of Estuarine Barrages
Edited by Neville Burt and Andy Rees
Publisher: Thomas Telford
ISBN: 0 7277 2863 6
Price: £70.00
Based on research commissioned by DETR and the Environment Agency,
Guidelines for the assessment and planning of estuarine barrages
presents guidance on the planning, design, construction and operation
of estuarine barrages. The development and operation of barrages
have the potential to have a considerable impact on the existing
estuarine environment. It is essential therefore that all environmental
costs are taken into account and that alternative options that may
satisfy the aspirations of the developer are fully considered. This
topical book aims to provide the reader, working at any stage of
the process, with the knowledge required to successfully complete
the task of building estuarine barrages.

Hydromechanical Aspects and Unsaturated Flow in Jointed Rock
Indraratna, B. and Ranjith, P.G
Published by Balkema
ISBN: 90 5809 309 3 , Paperback ISBN: 5809 310 7
Price: EUR 65.00 / $ 71.00. Paperback edition: EUR 35.00 / $ 35.00
Publication Date: September 2001
Fluid flow analysis plays a major role in various geotechnical applications
, including mining and petroleum industry. Predicting water-gas
flows occurring within a network of rock joints under mining conditions
is a very difficult task, due to the wide array of hydro-geological
variables involved. Rock joints are usually unsaturated, and they
conduct both gas/air and water together. This book covers in detail,
the fundamental aspects of fluid flow phenomena in a jointed rock
mass, as well as various geological (structural) features and their
influence on flow deformation characteristics. The book is intended
for final year thesis students, postgraduate researchers and practitioners.
