Database of Hydroelectric Uses
I am interested in making a computer database of micro and mini
hydroelectric uses. The main objective of this project is to carry
out a projection to 5 and 10 years of the development of this hydroelectric
uses in Latin America. The goal is to have a clear view of the impact
that these types of hydroelectric uses can have on the local and
regional economies in Latin American countries.

Coastal Oceanography
I am a French student in coastal physical oceanography at the
University of Marseille. I am in my 5th year and presently on a
training course in the laboratory of Marine sedimentology at the
University of Perpignan. My work subject deals with the use of sedimentary
banks and offshore bars for coastal defences against erosion and
understanding beach dynamics to implement numerical modelling. I
am looking for a subject for my PhD thesis next year, preferably
in connection with coastal oceanography (physics ansd sedimentology)
to try to solve coastal management or erosion problems. If you are
interested, please contact me.

Evacuation of Sediments from Reservoirs
Rodney White
Publisher: Thomas Telford, January 2001
ISBN: 0 72 77 2953 5
Price: £60.00
In many regions of the world the useful life of reservoirs is determined
by sedimentation which gradually reduces storage to the point where
the original benefits are much reduced. Under these circumstances
sustaining reservoir storage by positively managing sedimentation
is of increasing importance.
