From: Annandale, George To: Subject: Rivers-List: Sediment Deposition in Vegetated Areas Date: 02 September 2000 00:45 We are currently working on a project that requires estimation of the effect of vegetation on sediment deposition. The vegetation ranges from grass to brush and trees, and is located in a tropical environment. In addition to increasing the hydraulic roughness and slowing the flow down, it appears as if additional sediment is trapped by the physical presence of the vegetation. We are looking for research results pertaining to this topic, and, preferably, recommendations on how to simulate the phenomena by numerical modeling. Please forward references or recommendations if you have any. George Annandale, D.Eng., P.E.
