Storm-induced coastal risks at the tordera delta under different climate
In this work we assess the impact of SLR on storm-induced coastal hazards in the Tordera delta. To this end, we have
evaluated the extreme climate of total water level under present and future climate conditions and assessed its effects on
the territory by delineating the corresponding flood hazard areas. The effects of SLR are clearly visible in two aspects: (i)
an increase in the frequency of occurrence of inundation events of a given magnitude and, (ii) a significant increase in the
magnitude of the inundation for a given probability.
