Analysis of rainfall deviation in small area

In this study, the analysis of rainfall difference was carried out through the experiment of rainfall distribution in small areas
using the point rainfall gauge being used for the rainfall observation. In other words, the purpose of this study is to show a
significant rainfall difference between rainfall gauges covering tens of งด even in small areas through the observations and
analysis. Such difference seriously affects the calculation of rainfall runoff in the area, lowering the accuracy of flood
forecasting system. For the observation experiment in this study, 6 point rainfall gauges were installed at intervals of 60 m
at Andong River Experiment Center of Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT) and the
experiment was conducted. The data obtained from July 11, 2014 to September 3, 2014 was used for the rainfall analysis,
and the analysis result showed that the maximum difference of 8.5 mm was recorded at the time of maximum rainfall (85.5
mm) based on the daily rainfall, showing approximately 10% rainfall difference in small areas.
