Hydraulic events and structure behaviour
about hydraulic transients and its influence in the structure behaviour. Different numerical methods were
used, being compared with the experimental tests taken in a laboratory network. The range of results from the test study
of hydraulic transients presented in this research highlights the importance of accurate prediction of the pressure
variations in order to ensure that a pipeline’s integrity is not compromised. To model water-hammer phenomena onedimensional
model based on the MOC (method of characteristics) was used as well as a 3D-model based on CFD
(Computational Fluid Dynamics). Also,FEM (Finite Element Method) is used to study the structural characteristics
involved in the analysis of under pressure hydraulic structures pipe system..Form Required :
