IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Estimation of wave energy potential offshore apulia (italy)
Author : ALESSANDRA SAPONIERI(1), NICO VALENTINI (2) ANTONIO FELICE PETRILLO (3)
ABSTRACT
The paper deals with a preliminary estimation of the available wave energy around Apulian coasts. The Italian Wave Atlas
has been recently published with the main aim of spreading the yearly mean wave power based on the wave dataset
collected by the Italian Wave Network (IWN). The IWN buoy around the Apulian coasts is placed offshore Monopoli (Bari).
In the present study both yearly and monthly mean wave power offshore Apulian coasts are estimated with the analysis of
wave data recorded by other two wave buoys placed offshore Tremiti Islands and Taranto, respectively
