IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

SUMMARIZATION OF HYDRO-ELECTRICITY EXPLOITATION DUST POLLUTION CONTROL

Development of hydropower can not only facilitate energy conservation and emission reduction, but also bring about comprehensive benefits, including flood control?irrigation?shipping?water supply?tourist industry, and so on. The process of excavation?explosion and demolition?abandon slag transport, abandon slag field disposal during exploitation of hydropower will inevitably produce dust, which is not easy to diffuse because of the adverse conditions in the developing site, for instance, geology?climate, and topography, etc. Dust can lead to serious air pollution, and even can directly endanger the health of construction personnel. To date, dust control has still been a tough problem within the scope of the project construction across the world, thus it has long-termly attracted focus of attention of the environmental administrative department?experts and scholars, and project builders as well.
