SYSTEMATIZATION OF SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGN FOR MICRO PLUVIAL RUNOFFS FOR POTABLE WATER SUPPLY AND GREEN ENERGY GENERATION

Nowadays the world faces two crises that demand attention and occupation of the scientific and engineering community: lack of water for a growing population and environmental degradation, for that reason in this project the use of new alternatives is sought as micro currents of water taking an interdisciplinary approach. Therefore, the systematic design of water supply with treatment process are developed with sustainability attributes for the use of stormwater runoffs by reservoirs of micro order, i.e., with less environmental impact than conventional water bodies used, and considering generation of green energy. Includes the assessment of water flow by numerical and analytical methods application to estimate the availability of stream water based on experimental data obtained from common tools for anyone, avoiding limitations because the geographical location of some communities, socioeconomic and other obstacles commonly observable for preliminary data collection. It is a goal to achieve the optimized design for energy losses issues in the water conduction system and prevent damage from water hammer effect, and obtain a tangible environmental impact to take decisions. “DASME Asistente” (a useful auxiliary computer program) is developed to achieve a systematization capable to be reproducible by more engineers to make drafts and diagnosis of the relevance for specific projects using micro storm water runoffs to be considered by government agencies. An analysis and diagnosis of water quality is performed for pre-drinking characteristics using validated analytical and spectrophotometric methods, as well as microbiological analysis, in order to design an optimal purification system to successfully treat these water bodies. The systematization model is also realized for its implementation to be carried out in different specific cases to assist in the design of the mentioned works. The project includes an economic feasibility study to verify the reliability of the same.
