Quasi-3d coastal area model and its appication to morphodynamic around river-mouth

This paper is concerned with a prediction model of beach evolution that can predict the shoreline changes, using quasi three-dimensional nearshore current model. In this study, the 3D morphodynamic model with shoreline changes proposed by Kuroiwa et al.(2004) was modified in order to apply it to morphodynamic around river-mouth. The modifications of the previous model were introduced the variable mesh in the objective area, such as river-mouth and in the vicinity of shoreline. The model tests associated with morphodynamics around river mouth were carried out. The applicability of the model was investigated and discussed.
