Flow visualization experiments on horizontal coherent structure in compound channel flow with 45 interface geometry

Transverse momentum exchange induced by horizontal coherent structure is an important characteristic in compound channel flow. In the present study, flow visualization technique is used to investigate evolution patterns of horizontal coherent structure in compound channel with 45 interface geometry. The horizontal coherent structure in compound channel is intuitionistic visualized by frame-by-frame images. The period and oscillation scope of horizontal coherent structure, described by the time series of tracer dye centerline trajectory, are identified and characterized.
