IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

DISPERSION OF WASTEWATER IN TWO LAKES IN CENTRAL FINLAND DURING ICE SEASON
Author : Tom Kokkonen , Sanni Aalto and Matti Lepp?ranta
We present results from the field measurements gathered from Lake Keurusselk? and Lake Pet?j?vesi in February 2014. This research was part of the large EU-funded LIFE12-project NSINK, which aims to develop and demonstrate a cost-efficient method for wastewater nitrogen removal. The aim of the present work was to examine the stratification and circulation of lake water, as well as mixing of wastewater and recipient lake water in demonstration sites. The data includes hydrographic soundings with CTD-90M (Sea & Sun Technology GmbH) for the fundamental physical and chemical properties of the water body, and monitoring results from the
