EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL INVESTIGATION OF MODEL-SCALE COLLISION OF SHIP WITH ICE FLOE

This study investigated the collision of a ship with an ice floe by conducting a small-scale model test with a synthetic ice piece and numerical analysis. In the model test, the motion of the synthetic ice was restricted, the collision experiment was conducted, and the carriage velocity, the force acting on the ship, and the motion of synthetic ice were measured. In addition, numerical simulation was conducted of the situation immediately before the collision with the ship and the piece of ice.
