STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF BREAKING LENGTH OF Sea ice processes IN FRONT OF CONICAL STRUCTURES BASED ON MEASUREMENTS

Sea ice processes breaking length is one dominant factor of ice force period and ice-induced vibration of conical structures. In the paper, Sea ice processes bending failure mode and breaking length were explored through the analysis of the data obtained in field measurements and lab tests. In the paper, we performed field measurements on 2 conical jacket structures in the Bohai Sea and carried out lab tests of 2 cone models of Hamburg Ship Model Basin (HSVA). Statistical analysis results indicated that the width/thickness ratio (the ratio of structure width to ice thickness) was the dominant factor of Sea ice processes breaking length.
