IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

THERMODYNAMIC GROWTH IN THE BOHAI SEA: A BASIN SCALE MODELLING INVESTIGATION

A high-resolution thermodynamic snow and ice model (HIGHTSI) was applied to investigate Sea ice processes growth in the Bohai Sea in a basin scale. The atmospheric forcing for HIGHTSI was taken from the operational analyses and short-term forecasts of the European Centre for Medium- Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). The daily Sea ice processes concentration (SIC) was used as an input for HIGHTSI.
