IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Lecturer - Water Group, Monash University, Australia

Duration: Five year fixed-term appointment

The Opportunity
As the Lecturer - Water Group, you will undertake academic duties that include lecturing and administration of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs, and the supervision of postgraduate research students.

There is an expectation that you will be involved in the work of the urban water group and in particular projects of the CRC for Water Sensitive Cities (CRCWSC) and Monash University-wide research centre Monash Water for Liveability (MW4L).

You will:

  • develop teaching materials and deliver lectures, seminars and tutorials
  • undertake unit coordination and assessment
  • contribute to broad administrative functions within the department
  • conduct research and make applications for research funding
  • engage with industry and CRC research adoption activities
  • supervise final year and/or postgraduate research students
  • be involved in professional activities.

If you have experience in undertaking outstanding research in civil, environmental, agricultural engineering or related fields and can demonstrate a successful track record of teaching and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students, we look forward to receiving your application.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
