THE SCHOOL OF CIVIL & ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering is the largest School in the UNSW Faculty of Engineering, with approximately 2600 student enrolments and an annual budget of over $20 million. ABOUT THE ROLE

The role is with an existing and dynamic Water discipline group with strengths in surface and groundwater hydrology, coastal engineering and estuaries, water quality and treatment, and hydraulics and environmental fluid mechanics. Based at the School's internationally recognised Water Research Laboratory (WRL) located at UNSW’s Northern Beaches Campus, Manly Vale, the appointee(s) will be expected to collaborate across Centre research activities in their field of expertise. The role will collaborate with colleagues in the School, to undertake teaching at the undergraduate level in water engineering and related courses and at the postgraduate level in their area of expertise, and to provide supervision of undergraduate thesis, postgraduate coursework and higher degree research students.

The appointment would be:

  • at level B ($98k – 116k per annum), level C ($119k - $137k per annum), or level D ($143k – $157k per annum), plus 17% superannuation and leave-loading, commensurate with academic qualifications and experience,
  • full time,
  • to a Convertible Tenure Track Employment Contract for an initial fixed term period, with conversion to continuing appointment based on satisfactory performance and there being sufficient productive work available.
  • The Faculty reserves the right to offer an appointment on a continuing basis or to directly appoint to advertised positions.

  • A commitment to delivering high quality and innovative teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels
  • The ability to actively engage with industry and the community
