IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Selection of candidates for the 2018 Call for PhD Studentships - FCT (M/F), University of Porto (FEUP), Portugal
The 2018 call for PhD studentships, promoted by FCT – the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, is open until 28 March 2018 and aims to support graduates who wish to pursue research leading to a PhD degree in Portuguese or foreign research centres.
This announcement intends to select candidates aiming to apply to the 2018 FCT call in the scope of the activities of the Marine Energy research group of CIIMAR – Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research and NEMAR – Centre for Sea Energy Studies, Hydraulics, Water Resources and Environment Division, of the Civil Engineering Department, of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), Portugal.
The main scientific areas of interest are: Civil Engineering, Marine Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering.
