A postdoctoral research grant is available within the Project “OPWEC - OPtimizing Wave Energy Converters", coordinated by Prof. Francisco Taveira Pinto. This project seeks to develop and technically assess two different technologies for wave energy conversion using numerical and physical modelling, as well as to design cost effective mooring systems for nearshore and offshore installations. The work will be developed at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Portugal, under the scientific supervision of Prof. Francisco Taveira Pinto and Paulo Rosa Santos.
The grant will have a first contract of 6 months duration, eventually renewable up to the end of the project.
The monthly stipend indicated is net.
The applicants shall be fluent in English and have experience in the following domains: maritime hydrodynamics, hydrodynamics of floating structures and in the development of wave energy converters (physical/numerical modelling). Preference will be given to applicants with a PhD in the topic. The candidates need also to demonstrate to be able to produce high level research publications on the above topics.
The call is open from 22/05/2018 till 05/06/2018.
