Research Associate: Assessing societal impacts of surface water flooding King's College London, UK
Possessing a PhD in geography or other appropriate earth, environmental, or social science discipline, the postholder will apply archival, text mining and documentary analysis techniques to online newspaper and other digital administrative records to construct a database of surface water flooding events and their impacts. Following on from that, the postholder will use interview and other case study methods to reconstruct the societal impacts of selected case study flood events to inform the identification, parameterization, and testing of generalizable vulnerability and impact functions of a surface water flooding hazard impact model.
