IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Director & UTC Endowed Chair Professor University of Connecticut
The newly established UTC Institute for Advanced Systems Engineering in the School of Engineering at the University of Connecticut (UConn) invites applications and/or nominations for the prestigious position of Director and UTC Endowed Chair Professor.  The Director will be responsible for all operations of the Center. The Director will possess: (i) a proven track record of distinguished technical accomplishments in advanced system engineering & continuous and successful research funding; (ii) the innovative skills necessary to facilitate team-based visionary research, a record of industrial outreach activities in analytical systems engineering of complex physical and software intensive systems, as well as distance learning; and (iii) the technical leadership qualities necessary to engender strong collaborative partnerships between the Institute, industry and government agencies and to attract significant resources to the Institute.
