Job content
As part of the “Coastal and estuarine Processes” team you collaborate on (inter)national projects.
Examples of this kind of projects concern the diffusion of dredging plumes, sludge problems in ports and estuaries, currents caused by density effects (locks, cooling water), coastal protection and maintenance, environmental impact assessment of infrastructure works, …
Your relevant technical knowledge allows you to elaborate projects, in a team of professionals, taking into account planning, budget and technical requirements. By linking your academic knowledge to practical solutions, you provide our clients with the best technical and economical solutions.
 
You take initiative to report your progression and ask more experienced colleagues for feedback.
You constantly increase your knowledge throughout projects, contacts with academic researchers & institutes and conferences.
 
Profile
§  You have a university degree preferably in civil engineering, computational fluid dynamics, fluid mechanics, ... or equivalent. 
§  You are highly interested in analyzing physical processes of coastal and estuarine systems (waves, currents, sediment transport and morphology) as well as in the numerical modeling of such systems using software packages.
§  Relevant working experience is an advantage.
§  You like to work in  a young and dynamic team.
§  Missions abroad do not scare you off. You are willing to work on national and international projects.
§  You will work under supervision, but you are able to work independently when necessary.
§  You have excellent reporting skills, both oral and written.
§  Knowledge of numerical techniques and programming (Matlab) is an advantage.
§  You have an excellent knowledge of Dutch and a good knowledge of English, both oral and written. A good knowledge of French is an advantage.
