IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Coastal modeller position, Italy
JRC is looking for a coastal modeller who will develop wave propagation and storm surge models developed for climate change impact assessment. The contract will be of 2-year duration and can start immediately. We are looking for enthusiastic applicants with the following characteristics:
- EU citizen (strict requirement)
- Coastal Modeller/Oceanographer with proven experience in wave and storm surge modelling

Other beneficial skills:

(i) being familiar with Deltares software;

(ii) strong analytical skills using Mathworks Matlab;

(iii) high competence in programming/Linux cluster computing

(iv) inundation modelling experience.
