IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Tenure Track Hydro(Geo-)logy Focussing on Surface-Groundwater Interaction, Netherlands

The Faculty of Earth and Life Sciences (FALW) conducts research in the fields of life, health, environmental and earth sciences. It also offers a broad range of Bachelor and Master programmes that are closely connected to our cutting-edge research activities. Collaboration with other faculties, such as medicine, exact sciences, economics, psychology and social sciences leads to appealing and high quality academic education. The faculty's research facilities are excellent. The international cross-border collaborations with leading academic institutions and partners enhances the impact of our research results. 

The Department of Earth Sciences studies all aspects of the dynamics of Earth with an integrated approach to quantify the interplay and feedback mechanisms between the interior, surface and atmosphere of the Earth. We are offering six tenure track positions, one postdoctoral position, and one coordinator position to strengthen the Department’s research in water science, sedimentology, and tectonics, complementing existing strengths in research foci ‘Amsterdam Water Science’ and ‘Geology and Geochemistry'.
