IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Research Assistant in Carbon Dioxide Dispersion Studies, UK
A Research Assistant is being sought by the University of Strathclyde to work on the EPSRC funded S-Cape project. The aim of this project is to develop validated and computationally efficient shelter and escape models describing the consequences to the surrounding population of a carbon dioxide (CO2) release from Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) transportation infrastructure.

The post holder should have a Good first degree (minimum 2.1) in an appropriate engineering/scientific/mathematical background allied with experience in consequence analysis and/or dispersion studies related to pipeline engineering and in particular the behaviour of CO2. The successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively and have a commitment to excel in this research area, including the ability to publish at an International Standard.
