The Military Technological College (MTC) is a new cross service state-of-the-art and well-resourced campus. MTC will award internationally accredited Advanced Diploma, Bachelor of Engineering and Postgraduate qualifications which will be accredited for Incorporated and Chartered Engineering status. The mission of MTC is to deliver trade, specialist, undergraduate and post-graduate engineering programmes for all Oman MOD service personnel, in a well-equipped and high quality learning and training environment, resulting in the acquisition and application of knowledge and the achievement of operational competence and effectiveness at all levels.
Salary scales shown are in Omani Rials (OMR) Tax free and include housing and car allowance. Candidates will receive an additional one month's basic salary as a gratuity at the end of each year. Additional provisions will include i) air travel to and from home base for candidates, spouse and up to two children of school age (up to 18), ii) free medical treatment and health insurance at MOD medical services, iii) 1500 Omani Rials (OMR) in support of school fees per child per year to a maximum of two children. Job Title: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Principal Lecturer (Monthly salary: 2100 - 2500 OMR) required in the following Department:Civil Engineering. Required staff specializations as below:
Civil: Quantity Surveying, Water Engineering, Structural Design, and Construction Management.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
Lecturer – Minimum 3 years’ experience; relevant Masters or equivalent essential; PhD desirable
Senior Lecturer – Minimum 5 years; relevant Masters or equivalent essential; PhD desirable
Principal Lecturer – Minimum 7 years +: relevant PhD essential
To undertake teaching duties in Engineering and related subjects, for example at foundation year, undergraduate and postgraduate level.
To develop and deliver teaching materials and assessment of courses for delivery, as required.
Contributing to assessment and examinations including moderation of material, marking, and timely feedback - as required by College policy.
Ensuring that accurate up to date student records, including assignments, examinations, project marks and reports are maintained and submitted promptly.
Contributing to the learning and pastoral support of students in the College.
Contributing to a range of administrative tasks including curriculum development and quality assurance within the teaching and learning processes for which the Department is responsible.
To carry out such duties within the Department and College on instructions of the Head of Department if called upon to do so.
To contribute to research and/or knowledge transfer in areas related to the existing themes and activities within the College. This will include guided research supervision, contribution to publication in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences and supporting income generation bids from a variety of funding sources.
