IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Coastal Dynamics Specialist, Australia
The Griffith Climate Change Response Program (GCCRP) promotes research in new and emerging climate change adaptation problems, taking an interdisciplinary approach that draws upon Griffith's existing strengths and capacities.

The Griffith School of Engineering (GSE) and the Griffith Centre for Coastal Management (GCCM) are jointly commencing a three year project to develop operational models, based on Regional Oceanographic Models (ROMs), to describe and predict coastal oceanographic processes in the South East Queensland region. These processes directly drive coastal impacts (including storms inundation events, sea levels and water quality).

The Research Fellow position will form part of an interdisciplinary team of researchers and postgraduate students working in the fields of coastal ocean modelling, coastal management and adaptation, and provide technical input to current and emerging GCCRP projects in the Pacific and China which are focused on adaptation and resilience planning.

This is a fixed term (three years), full time position based at the Gold Coast campus.
