IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

PostDoc Marine and Coastal Modelling, IBM - Research Ireland
IBM - Research Ireland is seeking post-doctoral researcher on marine and coastal modelling. The candidate will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team that is developing a novel software platform for the decision support and management of marine and coastal areas.Research interest covers the area of hydrodynamics, environmental fluid mechanics, biogeochemical models, adaptive meshing and data assimilation. Activities include the research and deployment of coastal models to some of the marine and coastal modelling projects in which IBM Research - Ireland is involved in.
 
The candidate should have proven programming skills and a desire to see new technology applied in real-world situations. A successful candidate will interact with the scientific and business personnel at IBM as well as outside collaborators, participate and make presentations on their work, and publish results. While it is expected that the candidate will have skills in working with a team, the ability to work independently is also needed.
