IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Assistant Professor Environmental and Water Resources Engineering, California State University, Chico
Minimum Qualifications: The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is an earned doctorate in civil engineering (or a related field) and a bachelor of science in civil engineering (or a related field). Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate may be considered; however, the doctorate must be completed by August 1st, 2016 for an August 2016 starting date.
 
Specific expertise is required in one of the following areas:
 
Environmental Engineering
 
Water Resources Engineering
 
Expertise/interest and ability to teach a variety of courses in the department is required.
 
Candidates are subject to a criminal records check.
 
Preferred Qualifications: It is highly desirable that candidates have ability and interest in pursuing externally funded research and/or professional activity. It is preferable that this be demonstrated through previous accomplishments and/or publications.
 
It is desirable that candidates have demonstrated their ability as an effective teacher. It is also desirable that candidates have a BSCE from an ABET-accredited program and/or professional registration in Civil Engineering (any state).
 
Responsibilities: This tenure-track position carries responsibilities in the areas of teaching, scholarship and service. Responsibilities include instruction in a variety of civil engineering courses, achievement in funded research or other funded professional activity, academic and extra-curricular advising of undergraduate students, and service to the university and community. Excellence in teaching, participation in funded research or other professional activity, and service to the university/community are all requirements for tenure. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.
 
Salary: Salary commensurate with education and experience.
 
The Department: The Department of Civil Engineering (http://www.csuchico.edu/ce/index.shtml) is housed in the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Construction Management (http://www.csuchico.edu/ecc/). The baccalaureate program in Civil Engineering was established in 1957, is ABET-accredited, currently serves approximately 330 majors, and provides high-quality graduates to leading civil engineering firms, public agencies, and graduate schools.
