Applications are invited for a fully funded PhD research studentship in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nottingham, ranked 77th in the recent QS World University Ranking. The successful candidate will conduct numerical research into landslide-tsunamis. The student should be enthusiastic and exact working with a good degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or related disciplines. Experience in numerical modelling and good programming skills are essential. Good knowledge of fluid and wave mechanics is an asset.
The studentship will cover PhD tuition fees and a tax free stipend for three years for UK/EU students only due to funding restrictions, with possible ?2,000 enhancement for an exceptional candidate. The studentship is expected to start the 1st of February 2016.
