IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Lecturer/Associate Professor in Wastewater Engineering, University of Leeds, UK

You will develop world class research and innovate in education in the field of Wastewater Engineering, but just as importantly work at the interface with other disciplines.  In line with our wider ethos of inter-disciplinarity we are open to a broad definition of the discipline and will place greater importance on the impact, originality and potential for work across disciplines than on a particular topic.

You should have an excellent research track record with the vision and drive to tackle new challenges. You will join the Institute for Public Health and Environmental Engineering in the School and you should be able to demonstrate how your background complements the activities of this Institute. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will engage with researchers across the University through water@leeds, which has a strong leadership presence within the School.

In addition to developing an active research portfolio you will make a significant contribution to teaching in Wastewater Engineering on our undergraduate and postgraduate courses. A strong feature of teaching at Leeds is the extensive use of design project work and you would be expected to bring enthusiasm, innovation and preferably practical skills to this area of the curriculum.

Appointment to a specific grade will be made dependent on experience.
