IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Assistant Professor, University of Mississippi, US

The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Mississippi invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the assistant professor level in the area of geotechnical engineering. Candidates applying for this position are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels and a demonstrated capability to develop externally-funded research program with a strong record of peer-reviewed publications. Candidates should have a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering and a doctorate degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field at the time of appointment. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant work experience and professional licensure. The successful candidate should be capable of leading teaching and research in one or more of the following areas: advanced soil mechanics, computational modeling of geotechnical systems, sensing and instrumentation technology, sustainability and resilience, infrastructure systems, geo-environmental engineering, and nano-bio-geomechanics.
