MANHATTAN COLLEGE - The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department is seeking to fill a non-tenure-track position at the assistant professor rank beginning the Fall 2016 semester. A doctorate degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in structural engineering is required. Additional requirements are an undergraduate degree in civil engineering and a professional engineering license or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable period of time.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate (MS level) engineering mechanics courses and structural courses such as steel and concrete design, structural analysis, numerical methods and computer applications, as well as other civil engineering-related courses. In addition, the candidate will be expected to initiate and sustain a scholarly research program.
Candidates will be evaluated on the above criteria as well as their academic background, professional experience, communication skills, and potential for excellence in teaching, scholarly and professional activity, and service to the College.
