  • 4952

With Covid-19 outbreak in 2020, countries and regions are facing increasing and emerging water security challenges. The process of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has been affected.  As water is essential for all aspects of life, economic activities and ecosystems, understanding more about the new dimensions of water security is needed. Further, it is imperative to find feasible political, financial, technical and social means.

Organizing a webinar on Global Water Security provides a platform for members of the World Water Council and International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research, and other interested parties to share knowledge and experience on water security, discuss SDGs achievement progress, and put forward potential recommendations.

As an outcome of the webinar, an initiative on water security, consisting of the consensus and proposals of the webinar, will be submitted to the High-Level Panel on Global Water Security to be organized during the 9th World Water Forum.
