2D-3D Coupling of Shallow Water Equations with Navier-Stokes Equations

Abstract: A strategy is presented for a full bi-directional coupling of 2D Shallow Water with 3D NavierStokes equations, in the framework of the Open Source CFD code Open FOAM. A DirichletNeumann coupling, based on an exchange of values and fluxes at the 2D-3D interface, is employed. First results of unsteady test cases are presented.
