Experimentally-Based Analytical Model for Air Entrainment in Central Jet Dropshafts

Abstract: In this paper, air entrainment in a large scale central jet dropshaft is studied. Applying dimensional analysis, a model for describing air entrainment in Region 2 and Transition Region is proposed. The model is calibrated through experimental measurements. The results of the model are in good agreement with experimental data.
