Abstract: The objective of this research is to understand the characteristics of sewer runoff and to evaluate the intercepted volume of CSOs and SSD considering the quality of received water during rain. CSOs often have higher pollutant-concentration but less overflow quantity than SSD so the total mass loadings can be either higher or lower depending on the individual storm characteristics. However, EMCs values are usually higher for CSOs. A reduction of 20% of total pollutant mass of CSOs and SSD respectively, the intercepted volume of 12% and 11% of total flows was observed and the reduction of 80% of total pollutant mass of CSOs and SSD respectively, the intercepted volume of 63% and 61% of total flows was observed.
