Abstract: Many aquatic organisms were observed in a borehole adjacent to Kiryu River in Japan. Although over 40Nipponasellus hubrichti were observed from one borehole, there were only a few organisms in an adjacent borehole. The population of Nipponasellus hubrichti showed obvious seasonal variation. Comparisons between the Hotspot borehole and another adjacent borehole showed the characteristics regarding water temperature to be different. It indicated that the existences of Hotspot and water temperature were related.
