Abstract: Parametric perturbation technique is used to deal with the two-phase flow. The scaling Mach number and Froude number are introduced to non-dimensionalize the transient flow equations for horizontal pipe. The rigid water-column pipe flow case serves as the lowest order solution in the two-phase problem. The compressibility effects of liquid are represented by higher order corrections to the rigid water column model. The motion of separation interface between fully and partially filled sections in the circular pipe is related to long-wave characteristics. For this purpose the Froude number cuu Fr parameterization for the circular pipe is introduced, and the critical flow condition in respect of the upstream propagating long-wave disturbances is analysed. The numerical schemes are employed to calculate some cases of the two-phase flow for pipeline filling and emptying.
