Abstract: During the annual UNIS cruise in the Barents Sea in May 2007 the sea current in the vicinity of a first-year ice ridge was investigated in relation to both the drift of the ice floe and the ridge keel properties. The current and the turbulent heat fluxes inside the ridge keel, as well as the turbulent heat fluxes to the surrounding ice floe are calculated and analyzed depending on local shape of the trajectory of Lance drift.
