Abstract: The temperature in three spillways and two diversion tunnels were measured during the winter 1995/96. Rock temperatures were also measured in a spillway tunnel. Inspections and observations completed the measurements, and together with calculations the field work gives a better understanding of ice problems in such tunnel systems. Thick aufeis and a blocked diversion tunnel are briefly described in the paper.
