Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become increasingly pervasive in our everyday life and is a national strategy in many countries. It is transforming the way we do things and has great implications on the future of work. Nevertheless, the impact and application of AI in water environment engineering is only in its infancy. AI and its judicious applications promises to unleash many frontier scientific research as well as business and job opportunities for the next generation of hydraulic and environmental engineers.
With the aim to stimulate developments in AI and water, thel IAHR Distinguished Lecture is to be delivered by the latest research leaders in important emerging themes such as AI and water and ecohydraulics – with a view of stimulating new thinking in cross-disciplinary fields.
