Big thanks to all those who have attended and followed the 40th IAHR Congress from 21 to 25 August 2023 in Vienna, Austria, and for making it a great success.

With nearly 1400 delegates from 98 countries, this edition provided a wonderful, stimulating opportunity to meet, share and discuss recent advances and experiences, identify innovative and emerging trends in hydro-environmental science and engineering, and get inspired.

Special thanks to the local organising committee for delivering a great Congress, to the international scientific committee including reviewers and session chairs; keynote speakers, convenors of high-level panels, Vienna Industry Stream Events and special sessions; organisers of workshops and masterclasses, and to all session presenters. Congratulations to all award laureates and to the recently elected Executive Committee. And a great special thanks to the Congress sponsors and exhibitors, especially to our platinum sponsor Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water; and our gold sponsor DHI.

An outcome statement, pictures and videos will be shortly published on the IAHR website, and certificates will be emailed to all participants. The proceedings will be published within the next month.
